SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 10 -- Sacramento County issued the following press release:
The flu season is still with us, and Sacramento County Public Health is offering free H1N1 vaccination clinics at local community centers and other locations this month. Two of the 11 clinics will be one-time events February 25th and 26th at local community centers:
Thursday, February 25, 2010 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sam Pannell Community Center Gymnasium 2450 Meadowview Road, Sacramento
Friday, February 26, 2010 2:00-5:00 p.m. Robertson Community Center 3525 Norwood Avenue, Sacramento
In addition, Public Health is opening ongoing weekly flu clinics at nine additional locations (complete schedule on next page). 'I want to urge parents whose children already received their first dose at our recent series of community flu clinics to bring their children back for their second vaccination to make sure they are fully protected against H1N1 flu,' said Glennah Trochet, M.D., Sacramento County Health Officer. 'In addition, these clinics are a great opportunity for adults or children who have not yet been vaccinated to be immunized. It's never too late to get vaccinated,' Trochet said. In January, Sacramento County Public Health completed a three-month series of 35 community H1N1 flu vaccination clinics. Nearly 43,000 Sacramento County residents were immunized against a flu strain that has hospitalized 500 people and killed 22 in Sacramento County since April, 2009. Besides the clinics on February 25th and 26th, H1N1 vaccinations will be available on a regular weekly schedule at nine other Sacramento County locations:
